I am busy thinking about the upcoming holidays and may try and sell some cards at a local street fair. The money is less important than the opportunity to get to know my neighbors. At this point, with what I am spending on supplies, I doubt I could ever see a profit! I am sure you feel the same way!

I just love these Doodlebug 3-D embellishments as they are quick and easy when you need a card. I am enjoying a free Sunday to just sit and play. Hope you are, too!

TGIF!

Today is my favorite day of the work week - Friday! Things start to wind down slightly on Fridays and it gives me time to think of ideas for cards. I found some Christmas themed HA stamps on sale at The Paper Presentation in Manhattan - 1/2 off - and I am thinking about using them on non-Christmas cards.

My philosophy of card making seems to directly mirror my philosophy on how our condo is decorated. I love the pared down and uncluttered look but all I do is keep adding more stuff! I cannot keep surfaces too clear of objects and photos and my cards seem to veer in that direction, too.

I am so excited that the Oscars are being held on Sunday evening. I am a movie lover and have seen all but one of the Oscar nominated Best movies. Poor Robert gets dragged to a lot of movies when he really wants nothing but action movies. I'm not so much interested in what the stars are wearing and all of that red carpet stuff but do think about how much time and effort they put in to looking that perfect.

Have a super weekend!

Class with Cheiron

I took a class last night with Cheiron at The Ink Pad in Manhattan. Her classes are always fun and I love her clean and easy card making style. She uses a great selection of stamps, inks, pens, papers and tapes. These are the cards I created and they are super sweet. Cheiron is great at explaining the techniques used and while I may be familiar with some of them, I always learn something new and typically learn by making a mistake or two along the way. So glad she brings extra paper!

I hope you're having a great day!

Getting ready for Mother's Day

I just returned from Florida and was there with my family to celebrate my mom's 90th birthday. Wow. That's quite a milestone! It got me thinking about how I would acknowledge Mother's Day, which will be here before you know it. Work is going to start getting busy so I thought I'd make the card now while things were quiet. The bow is slightly too large for the card but I just love the ribbon and wanted to use it and I know mom will like it. I hope you have a great day!
